Sylvania Area Historical SocietyThe Sylvania Area Historical Society works toward the preservation and collection of items and artifacts that catalog the history and genealogy of Sylvania and its surrounding area. The Butterfly House The facility was built with the idea of developing beautiful gardens in a controlled environment to exhibit butterflies to the general public and to educate them in the life cycle of them, as well as to promote a healthy environment. The average life span of the butterfly is two to three weeks so each week new species are introduced, so come walk amongst the butterflies, see their beauty and learn about these enigmatic creatures.
